On 28th of March there was laid a fire in the academia school, built by the NGO Stand by me Lesvos in 2018. Almost a thousand women, children and men visited daily classes there.
The school was closed in mid-february 2020 by the gouvernment of the north-aegean region because it didn’t have a toilet. Just 12 days before a 6 year old girl died in another fire at Moria Camp.
